Dollar Tree: Great for Peanut Butter Crackers and Wedding Swag Too!

In saving money, Wedding on March 17, 2010 at 6:02 pm

I Found myself wandering around william cannon and decided today was the day I would venture into the dollar store. Dollar Tree to be exact. Great place for wedding glassware and fabric flowers if you are using any.  On normal day to day items I left with: 2 boxes of cereal, Campbell’s soups, little peanut butter crackers for lunches, sponges, scrubber brushes, cleaning supplies, swiffer cloths and kitchen towels for under $20. Sweet. One word of warning, I saw soup for less at H-E-B later that day, so don’t be fooled. Items I will go back for come wedding time are: Pint glasses, small cylinder vases, martini glasses (seriously, they’re pretty nice and we don’t have any!) and dish towels.  And they also have great items for purchase by the case online such as wedding bubbles and candles. As you can see, I’m quite excited about this. I’ll take saving money from anywhere I can. Oh and if you’re in that neighborhood (500ish William Cannon.. in Austin) Rick’s cleaner is $2.65 and item for dry cleaning!

David’s Bridal is… interesting.

I took the plunge and decided to make an appointment at the big, bad David’s Bridal. I wouldn’t say I bombed, or found anything of my dreams either. I was in dressing room 32, meaning there were more than 32 dressing rooms. I tried on the dress that is prominently displayed on the front page of their web site. I won’t post a pic since my fiancé reads my site. So ladies, go check it out.  It’s really pretty. And every bride considering D’s Bridal will probably try it on. Does that weird anyone else out? I tried one other dress on that I kinda liked but the material felt like paper. So there. Back to square uno on the thrifty dress search.  I’m in the process of checking out the outlets. Do they carry bridal wear? I’m actually having a hard time finding anything in my area besides David and Co. Definitely feel free to give me genius suggestions.

A Little Wedding Dress Inspiration

Here you have it. I absolutely love these ladies and would love to emulate them on that “big day, ” but  the question really is: how to not look utterly ridiculous?
